Everything you need to know about the scholarships we offer and how to apply
We offer a limited number of 11+ scholarships in Year 6 across the different disciplines of school life to those pupils who show both high levels of interest and potential. Awards are offered to pupils who, in our view, are likely candidates for a similar award as they move into their senior school at 13+. Our 11+ scholarships are offered for academic, sport, drama, music and art.
Children applying for these scholarships are expected to be working at a high level in their field. The benchmark for awarding scholarships will be senior schools’ expectations of potential scholars at 13+. Pupils’ general conduct and approach to school life will also be an important factor in the decision-making process.
Pupils may apply for a maximum of two scholarships. If a pupil were to win two awards, one would be honorary.
Scholarships will carry a value of between £300 and £1000 per year off fees.

Please note internal candidates will not need to submit an application form as pupils will now be nominated by the relevant Heads of Departments. External candidates should complete a form as part of the application process.

Internal candidates: there will be no formal examinations for internal candidates. All children will be assessed in English, maths, science through regular in-class assessments alongside non-verbal and verbal tests taken in Autumn 2023. Those pupils performing at the very top end of their year group academically and demonstrating strengths across a range of subject areas will be awarded scholarships. Should they win an award, they will be expected to display a high level of maturity, diligence, initiative and independence in their approach towards their studies in the Seniors. There would be an expectation to be involved in some extracurricular activities and possibly external competitions, as well as take on certain responsibilities which relate to their role.
External candidates: will sit papers in English, maths and science. Non-verbal and verbal tests will also be set for external candidates. Pupils who apply for this scholarship should be performing at the very top end of their year group academically and demonstrate strengths across a range of subject areas. Should they win an award, they will be expected to display a high level of maturity, diligence, initiative and independence in their approach towards their studies in the seniors. There would be an expectation to be involved in some extracurricular activities and possibly external competitions, as well as take on certain responsibilities which relate to their role. These assessments will take place during a taster day as part of the application process.
